There myths that after eating you should move about, eat fruits or even relax by sleeping for a while. We would like to correct these myths as they can actually harm your digestive system and cause health related issues. Here are seven things you should not do after eating:
• Do not smoke – Studies from experts proved that smoking a cigarette after a meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes, causing higher chances of cancer.
• Do not eat fruits immediately - as eating fruits after a meal will cause your stomach to be bloated. Therefore eat fruits 1 to 2 hours after a meal or 1 hour before.
• Do not drink tea -because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the protein intake from the food we consume to be hardened and thus difficult to digest.
• Do not loosen your belt! Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted and blocked.
• Do not take a showeras it will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
• Do not walk about – People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live longer! It’s a myth! Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we eat.
• Do not sleep immediately – The food we take will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric problems and infections in our intestine.

A dog fainted with excitement when he was reunited with his owner after two years apart.
Schnauzer owner Rebecca Ehalt wrote that her pet's cataplexy was perhaps understandable considering her time away was “in fairness, 14 years in dog years.”
Her YouTube video shows the pet dog wailing with joy as he sees Rebecca for the first time before falling sideways and struggling to his feet.

Objects that crashed to the ground in China have been identified as space debris, state media reported, after a Russian rocket carrying a communications satellite fell back to Earth minutes after lift-off. Qiqihar city in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang, which borders Russia’s far east, reported that several objects appeared to have fallen from the sky on Friday, the Xinhua news agency said. One of the parts is a metal dome with jagged, blackened edges.
Space debris from a Russian rocket that exploded in the earth's atmosphere
have fallen in China, according to state media
After analysis, experts have concluded they were 'parts from a carrier rocket or a satellite', Xinhua said Sunday, citing the China National Space Administration.
Authorities were communicating on the issue 'with relevant parties,' it added.
On Friday the Russian rocket ferrying one of Europe's most powerful satellites into space exploded in the earth's atmosphere, setting the former Soviet state's commercial space program back 'three to four years'.
Russia's workhorse Proton-M was carrying the $275-million Express AM4R satellite when it failed and burned up, destroying the telecommunications module intended to bring high-speed internet to remote parts of the country.

After analysis, experts have concluded they were '
parts from a carrier rocket or a satellite', Xinhua said Sunday, citing the China National Space Administration
It was the second failure for the Proton-M in less than a year, and the second time that it had failed to deliver such a European satellite, after the last one crashed shortly after launch in 2011.
Friday's unmanned mission went awry when the engine on the third stage of the Proton-M booster rocket failed, Oleg Ostapenko, head of the Russian space agency Roskosmos, told Russian news agencies.
He said the precise cause was unknown.
The failure occurred at an altitude of 160 km (100 miles), about nine minutes after the early-morning lift-off from the Russian-leased Baikonur facility in Kazakhstan.
The state-run RIA quoted Ostapenko as saying that the rocket and all debris had burned up in the atmosphere: 'We can say with certainty that nothing reached Earth.'
However, Russian media said some debris may have fallen into the Pacific or been scattered over Siberia and Russia's Far East.
No casualties or damage were reported on the ground.
The lost Express AM4R satellite, worth more than 200 million euros ($275 million), was described by its maker Astrium, a unit of the European aerospace group Airbus, as one of the most powerful satellites built in Europe.
Its loss delays a number of commercial projects by three to four years.
'It's a heavy blow, of course. And the thing is that our workhorse rocket - our most powerful and the most-used rocket - has such a bad record,' Ivan Moiseyev, head of the Russian-based Institute of Space Policy think tank, told Kommersant-FM radio.
He said the rocket had a 7 percent failure rate, and its unreliability was making it harder for Russia to compete in the multibillion-dollar global satellite launch industry, giving a boost to its European rival Arianespace and the American newcomer SpaceX.
The decapitated body of 70-year-old Eledina Gabitanan was found outside her home in Purok Esperanza, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City earlier this week.
Barangay officials were shocked to note that as Eledina's body lay outside, her son, Percival, was sitting inside the house with her head just a few meters away from him.
According to the family's neighbors, they heard Gabitanan asking for help at around 3 a.m. last Thursday, July 24.
One of the neighbors, Rosalinda Alfsicar, then sought help from barangay officials.
When neighbors first went to Gabitanan's house, she said Percival was just sitting down as if nothing happened. She said the suspect had already washed the body of his dead mother when they arrived.
Percival admitted to ABS-CBN News that he tied up his mother before killing her.
He claimed they were just talking when his mother's appearance allegedly changed into that of an "aswang."
That was when he said he got up to look for a bamboo stake that he could use to stab her. However, he said the bamboo stake failed to pierce through her, so he decided to cut off her head.
Inspector Richard Fajarito, deputy commander of police station 8, said Percival's statement was inconsistent, and that the latter had admitted using illegal drugs.
Police said the suspect will be facing parricide charges.
Your morning can be that make-or-break time that sets you up for a good day or a bad day. Here are 11 habits you can establish that will put you on the path of stringing together good day after good day.
1. Drink a Glass of Warm Lemon Water
Drinking a glass of warm water with lemon first thing in the morning is an excellent way to get your body going. It’s like oil for the Tinman as it goes to work lubricating all of your different internal systems.
You want the water to be warm so that it’s not a shock to your system first thing in the morning. The lemon will help get your digestive system ready for the coming meals, and makes the water tastier. You can add a bit of honey to it as well if you want to cut down on some of the tartness. The Rehydration Process
When you wake up in the morning you’ve just gone without water for about 8 hours, so it’s important to turn things around and start up the flow of water again. What you don’t want to do is leave out the water and go along with your day, having breakfast and other beverages before addressing your need for water.
2. Wake Up Earlier
This is priority one because in order to fit in a fantastic morning you’re going to need some extra time compared to your current routine.
If you’ve turned into a night owl because of the peace and quiet it affords, you’ll be equally satisfied by the same peace and quiet an early morning provides, and it’s simply a matter of shifting your personal time to the wee hours of the morning rather than late at night. The difference to your body is noticeable.
The Ideal Time to Wake Up
Wake up in conjunction with circadian rhythms if possible. Civil twilight is a great time to wake up because there will be enough light to see, the birds are chirping, and you still have time to catch the sunrise if you’re keen. Since this time varies by the time of year, it may be more feasible during some seasons than others. Give yourself an hour and a half before you have to be out the door.
3. Scrape Your Tongue
Taking time to scrape your tongue is one morning routine you won’t want to give up once you start it. It helps get rid of morning breath, and also is in line with the rejuvenation process you need to do to make the transition from sleep to wakefulness each day.
As a bonus you’ll be able to taste your food better without the film that’s on your tongue even after brushing your teeth. The Right Scraper
Some toothbrushes come with a built-in scraper on the back of the head. If yours doesn’t have one you’ll want to invest in one. You can find some that are literally just a plastic triangle-shaped scraper, and others that feature special bristles that are designed to get into the grooves of your tongue. You can also go with the type that is stainless steel and U-shaped to get the job done.
4. Do a Stretching Routine
Here’s a great 5 minute stretch that you can do in the morning to wake your muscles up and get them ready for the day ahead. You should always modify any workout to your own abilities, and search until you find one that resonates with you.
You can also use this time to do a yoga routine, or an exercise routine, if you feel so inclined or are trying to lose weight. However, if you currently aren’t exercising regularly we recommend starting off with just some morning stretches until that becomes a habit, and then transitioning into yoga and other exercises when you organically start to feel like you could do more than just stretch. How Long Do I Have to Stretch?
When first starting out it doesn’t matter how long you stretch, just as long as you do it. If you only have a few minutes for it, just do a few minutes. You’ll find that as you develop the habit, you’ll end up stretching for longer periods of time, and it will naturally expand on its own without the need to force yourself to do it for a set time.
5. Rebound 100 Times
Rebounding on a mini-trampoline is the perfect morning exercise. It’s zero impact, and perfect for any physical fitness level. You don’t even have to get any air on it for it to be effective. Just lightly bouncing on it is effective for stimulating lymph movement and drainage as well ashelping your thyroid.
You can repeat this process a few times per day, whenever you feel like you need a pick-me-up. It helps keep you energized without the use of energy drinks or other sugary or caffeinated beverages. Firms Up Your Whole Body
You’ll notice that when you first start bouncing you’re kind of going with the flow, but by the time you hit your 100th bounce your body has tightened up considerably, in a good way. This is working each muscle in your body, your leg muscles, core, and upper body. A great way to start the day, get your juices flowing, and just plain feel good!
6. Dry Brush Your Body
Dry brushing the body is an Ayurvedic practice that helps improve your circulation and slough off dead skin cells.
Brushing towards your heart is essential, and you’ll want to start at your extremities and work your way in, covering all of your parts before hopping in the shower.
Dry brushing will help leave your skin feeling smoother, and you’ll notice the difference after you’ve dried off. Apply a moisturizer afterward to retain that suppleness.
Which Brush to Use?
Choose a brush that is good at exfoliating, but not one that is so rough you don’t look forward to using it. A dry loofah or other brush designed to scrub the skin works best. You don’t want it to be too soft on your skin or it won’t do the job, but if you opt for a softer brush you can apply more pressure so that it works.
7. Listen to Uplifting Music or Audiobook
Starting your morning with music you find beautiful, or a book you find inspirational or motivational, is the perfect way to set yourself up for success. It can give you something to look forward to in the morning, and sets you up with the right mindset to greet the day.
You can adjust your music for the type of day you want to have, whether you need something that gets you pumped for an action-packed day, or something more soothing so you can handle a stressful day.
The mind is hungry for new tidbits of information it can go to work on, and you should feed it every day, the same way you feed your body.
Choosing the Right Audio
Whether you pick a group of songs, or an audiobook that inspires you, is up to you. Choose your songs carefully though, as they can get stuck in your head, and if this sort of thing drives you crazy you might be better off listening to a book.
8. Green Smoothie Time
Now that we’ve woken up with the sun, brushed our teeth and scraped our tongue, rehydrated, stretched, rebounded, dry brushed the skin, showered while listening to pleasing music, it’s time to nourish the body with a refreshing green smoothie.
The green part of the smoothie is what’s really going to help boost your energy levels this morning. That’s because it will likely be spinach, kale, or some other leafy green providing phytonutrients, fiber, and minerals. Set a timer for 30 minutes after you drink it and notice how much better you feel.
Finding A Great Green Smoothie Recipe
Check out our list of amazing healthy smoothie recipes and pick the one that sounds most appealing to your morning palate. Just about any non-green smoothie can be made green with the addition of spinach or kale.
9. Meditate for a Few Minutes
Right now you should be in a really happy place, a green smoothie coursing through your digestive system, and all of the helpful things you’ve done should all be having a cumulative effect. There’s no better time to sit and clear your mind for a few minutes.
There’s also no right way to meditate, so if you’ve tried specific methods and didn’t really like it, it’s time to develop your own personal style. Choose a position that you find comfortable, and decide if you’d like music or not. Just sitting and listening to the silence can be enough for most.
Why Just a Few Minutes? You don’t need to go into a trance or spend an hour in the lotus position to meditate. You can get the benefits from just a few minutes and you’ll see a marked improvement in the upward trend your days start to take. We’re being intentionally vague here because “a few” can mean whatever it means to you, and however you feel in the moment (or what the clock allows in the morning).
10. Smile at Yourself in the Mirror for 30 Seconds
This is a can’t-miss way to boost your self esteem, and once you get into the habit you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. It’s basically just a matter of designating some time as true “me time” and seeing a happy you reflected back in the mirror.
This works on a number of different levels, but at the core is the ability it gives you to talk right to the bigger part of yourself, the part that is running in the background and getting the important things done.
Make sure you’re smiling, it doesn’t have to be a big goofy grin, just the hint of a smile works, like you’ve got some tricks up your sleeve and you’re ready to show the world what you can do. You’ll be surprised at the positive thoughts this exercise inspires.
Morning Validation
What you’re doing here is basically checking in with yourself, giving yourself that look of determination that you’ll need to make it through the day and accomplish all of your goals. No matter what happens the rest of the day, you’ve at least said hello to that deeper part of yourself and given words of encouragement.
11. Write Out Your Top 3 for the Day
If you lead a busy life chances are things fall through the cracks on a daily basis. To help stop this from happening you should list the three things you really want to get done today, and above all else, make sure they get done.
Once you establish the habit of getting the most important three things of the day done, you’ll be able to build up confidence and go for bigger and bigger things. A funny thing also happens, all of the smaller stuff that you thought needed to get done either does get done without being on your list of three, or fades away because it wasn’t that important to begin with.
Just 3, No More No Less
If you start getting carried away and adding more than three, you’ll find you won’t get to the fourth and fifth and so on, and then you’ll get discouraged. Force yourself to come up with three good ones, even if your day is largely unstructured. You’ll feel better at the end of the day knowing you at least got 3 important things done.
A viral video apparently showing a golden eagle swooping to snatch a baby is a hoax, animation students have admitted.
Over three million people had watched the YouTube clip, purportedly showing the raptor's raid in a park in Montreal, Canada, since it was uploaded last night.
The minute-long clip appears to show the bird of prey swoop, grab the child in its talons, before dropping it to the ground with a bump a few seconds later.
Today, a university in Montreal released a statement, admitting it was the work of three of their 'talon'-ted students.
If you're thinking of building a tourist town, you could find a worse spot than the shores of Lago Epecuen, a salt lake about 600 kilometres southwest of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
At least, that's what the residents thought back in the 1920s when they started moving in. Things got off to a good start: they soon had a railroad, and people were coming to visit.
By the 1970s, the town's population was 5,000, and it sounds like it was a nice place to live. But then, the weather changed. The Atlantic says "a long-term weather event" started delivering a lot more rain than normal to the region.
A lot of rain generally isn't much fun. But when you're located that close to water, it can be a disaster.
A slow-growing flood started to approach the town. In 1985, a dam broke, and the water filled the entire town.
By 1993, the water had reached a depth of 33 feet. The town was totally submerged.
Finally, by 2009, the weather trend had reversed. The water receded, and the town started to appear again.
Of course, 25 years under very salty water takes its toll. Many of the town's remains are coated in a layer of salt, and it hasn't been kind to any cars that were left behind.
AFP photographer Juan Mabromata visited the town a while back and took these otherworldly shots, including one of 81-year-old Pablo Novak, the only resident of Villa Epecuen. Here he is:
Apparently Novak left along with all the the town's residents when the flooding hit. But he has since returned, and says he doesn't mind living a solitary existence.
"I am OK here. I am just alone. I read the newspaper. And I always think of the town's golden days back in the 1960s and 70s," Novak said.
Although much of the water has receded, parts of the town are still flooded to this day.
A smelly rotten-egg gas in farts controls blood pressure in mice, a new study finds. The unpleasant aroma of the gas, called hydrogen sulfide (H2S), can be a little too familiar, as it is expelled by bacteria living in the human colon and eventually makes its way, well, out.
The new research found that cells lining mice’s blood vessels naturally make the gas and this action can help keep the rodents’ blood pressure low by relaxing the blood vessels to prevent hypertension (high blood pressure). This gas is “no doubt” produced in cells lining human blood vessels too, the researchers said.
“Now that we know hydrogen sulfide’s role in regulating blood pressure, it may be possible to design drug therapies that enhance its formation as an alternative to the current methods of treatment for hypertension,” said Johns Hopkins neuroscientist Solomon H. Snyder, M.D., a co-author of the study detailed in the Oct. 24th issue of the journal Science.
Snyder and his colleagues compared normal mice to mice that were missing a gene for an enzyme known as CSE, long suspected as being responsible for making hydrogen sulfide. As they measured hydrogen sulfide levels taken from tissues of the CSE-deficient mice, the scientists found that the gas was depleted in the cardiovascular systems of the altered mice. By contrast, normal mice had higher levels of the gas, thereby showing that hydrogen sulfide is naturally made by mammalian tissues using CSE.
Next, the mice were subjected to higher blood pressures comparable to serious hypertension in humans. Scientists had them respond to a chemical called methacholine that relaxes normal blood vessels. The blood vessels of the CSE-lacking mice hardly relaxed, indicating that hydrogen sulfide is a huge contender for regulating blood pressure.
Hydrogen sulfide is the most recently discovered member of a family of gasotransmitters, small molecules inside our bodies with important physiological functions.
This study is the first to reveal that the CSE enzyme that triggers hydrogen sulfide is activated itself in the same way as other enzymes when they trigger their respective gasotransmitter, such as a nitric oxide-forming enzyme that also regulates blood pressure, Dr. Snyder said.
Because gasotransmitters are common in mammals all over the evolutionary tree, these findings on the importance of hydrogen sulfide are thought to have broad applications to human diseases, such as diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases.
The research was supported by grants from the U.S. Public Health Service and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research as well as a Research Scientist Award.
There is nothing more disgusting than the thought of a teenage girl touching herself. Well… nature agrees too. Jennifer Connery of Hoagland Nebraska was struck by lightning this past Tuesday while masturbating outside behind a tree. “We don’t let our kids masturbate in the home for this very reason so I guess she had to sneak out side” embarrassed father Winston Connery was quoted as saying when contacted.
According to medical experts the moisture between her genitals and her fingertips served as a conductor and caused a lot of damage to nerve endings there is a good chance she will not regain feeling in either. “She is lucky to have only been using two fingers at the time, it could have been much worse” Carol Rogers, pediatric nurse responded. “Right now I think she is just embarrassed that she had to learn a lesson the hard way”
Masturbation is a most deadly sin and children need to be protected from the temptation.
The clear waters of San Diego’s coastline were turning almost completely black as if a tarry, dark liquid have spread beneath the water. But that thing isn’t caused by an oil spill at all. It’s actually a huge swarm of anchovies which descended off the shallow waters of La Jolla on Tuesday, July 8.
In the video below, posted to YouTube by Scripps Oceanography, a massive school of oily fish were seen along the coast of San Diego. The number was estimated to be between 1 million to 100 million anchovies, that is according to Prof. David Checkley of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Divers and scientists (including David) have jumped in the surf and swam with anchovies, but they seemed unfazed by the swimmers.
It is believed that the change in temperature of the North Pacific may have caused the influx of anchovies. But it’s not only the scientists who were amazed by this army of anchovies because Checkley said that California sea lions which prey on small fish are “happy as a clam.” Surfers are also enjoying the rare sight of this unusual phenomenon.
It’s really incredible to see millions of anchovies. What more if you’re swimming with them? I’m sure it would really be such a wonderful experience.
