Google introduces Project Fi Wireless Service

by

Google has introduced a brand new wireless service referred to as Project Fi that aims to supply its subscribers the most effective network connection at their location whether or not its wifi or 4G LTE.

Project Fi is essentially a service that provides you access to a bundle of wireless connection using the Project Fi SIM card. As mentioned earlier it aims to give you to the highest-quality of affiliation out there in your area

If you’re in a location where there is a healthy 4G LTE connection, Project Fi will automatically connect you on that network. If 4G LTE is not available it will then automatically move you on a better network type like 3G or 2G or to more than a million free, open WiFi hotspots that Google has verified as fast and reliable. Do note though that this isn’t an independent mobile network or ISP as Project Fi uses Sprint and T-Mobile network for its services.

Like any other mobile internet service, Project Fi offers plans for its subscribers but with no annual contracts. Plans starts at $20 per month for the Fi Basics and includes the following:

* Unlimited domestic talk and text
* Unlimited international texts
* Low-cost international calls
* WiFi tethering
* Coverage in 120+ countries

Then on top of that is $10 per GB for cellular data giving you a minimum of $30 per month for 1GB up to $120 per month for 10GB. If you have unused data it will be applied as a credit towards you next month’s bill so you only pay for what you use. In addition, you won’t be charged if you’re connected to an open or home WiFi.

10 Mysterious Mummies From Around The World

by
Many people associate mummies with ancient Egypt, but the mummification is a process that was used world-wide in ancient times.

In this article we take a look at some of the most mysterious mummies we have come across.

Some of them are truly unique and make scientists scratch their heads.

In 2000, a strange story was published in the Egyptian magazine Rose El-Yussuf. According to the magazine's writer, in the 80s, the French Egyptologist, Louis Caparat, discovered a secret chamber with a crystal container (tomb) inside the Great Pyramid of Cheops. In the container (tomb), there was lying an alien humanoid that appeared to be in a dormant state. The scientist also found an ancient papyrus which described a meeting of the alien with Pharaoh Khufu (2589-2566 B.C.), commonly known as Cheops.

Further, the ancient document informed that some day in the future, the alien's space-traveling species would arrive from the stars.

The alien also made a suggestion regarding the construction of a pyramid as his resting place

2. America's Mysterious Pedro Mountain Mummy                                                           In 1932 when Cecil Main and Frank Carr were digging for gold in the San Pedro Mountains about 60 miles southwest of Casper, Wyoming, they discovered the strange story of a curious very small mummy that later became known as the Pedro Mummy.

The small size and the features of the ancient body indicated it could once have been a member of the hidden race of the Little People living in America.

Many ancient Native American legends tell of a group of beings that are commonly referred to as the Little People. These small beings are sometimes said to me spirits, magicians, ferocious dwarves, fairies, or devils, depending on the tribe's original folklore.

After the discovery of the Pedro mummy, the legends of the Nimerigar were brought to life again.

Is it possible the Pedro mummy was once a member of the Little People?

3. Forgotten Mysterious Mini-Mummy Discovered In Ancient Egyptian Tomb
This is an astonishing discovery archaeologists made a while back and there are still many unanswered questions. How and why did this mysterious mini-woman end up in an ancient Egyptian tomb? Was she a woman of high power and influence? Did she play an important role in the ancient Egyptian society?

The mummy, measuring just 3.2 feet (97 centimeters) dates back to the Roman era. She was discovered in a 2,000-year-old tomb in the Bahariya Oasis, about 225 miles southwest of Cairo.

Archaeologist Mahmoud Afifi, who headed the dig, said she was covered in intricately molded plaster that shows her wearing a tunic, headscarf, necklace, bracelet and shoes. She was dressed in Roman robes and scientists think that the burial style indicates she belonged to Egypt's long period of Roman rule, from 31 B.C. until the Arab invasions of the 7th century.

We nay never know the true identity of the mini-woman discovered in the mysterious tomb.

4. The Blinking Mummy Rosalía Lombardo
Known as the Girl in the Glass Coffin or Sleeping Beauty, Rosalía Lombardo is widely considered one of the best preserved mummies in the world. The girl died in 1920 at the age of two of pneumonia in 1920. Rosalia's father was so sorely grieved upon her death that he approached Dr. Alfredo Salafia, a noted embalmer and taxidermist, to preserve her. She was one of the last corpses to be admitted to the Capuchin catacombs of Palermo, Sicily where about 8,000 mummies are being kept. She soon became one of the most well-known.

Her preservation is such that it appears as if she were only sleeping.

According to the Peruvian journal El Comercio, scientists interested in learning more about the embalming techniques employed in Rosalía's body put a camera inside her sarcophagus, capable of taking pictures every 60 seconds. What happened next came as a surprise. The images taken by the camera seemed to show the little mummy's blue intact eyes were opening and closing several times every day. This weird phenomenon has been the subject of various speculations for some years.

5. The Mystery Of Ancient Egypt’s Red Haired Mummies
Do we really know, genetically speaking, where the so called dynastic Egyptians came from? Some presume they were exclusively of black African origin, while others speculate that they came from lands to the east, were of a complex racial mix, or in fact had as their source Egypt itself.

Can we tell, based on the facial features of sculptures such as this, presumably of Rameses II, an idea of his ethnic ancestry? What is perhaps far more curious is the presence of mummies from ancient Egypt that had red, and in some cases even blonde hair.

6. Mysterious "Perfectly Preserved" 300-Year-Old Mummy Baffles Archaeologists
Archaeologists have made yet another incredible discovery. When experts opened a 300 year-old coffin they found perfectly preserved body! What happened next is somewhat of a mystery and archaeologists have begun an investigation. Inside the tomb were three coffins. Two of the coffins contained remains bodies that had reduced to skeletons. The third coffin contained a mummy that had an unusually well-preserved body

7. Lady Of The Mask: Wari Mummy With Faked Blue Eyes
The Lady of the Mask, a Wari mummy is extraordinary because of her faked blue eyes. It is a face you don't forget easily. The Wari people lived in the Andean highlands of central Peru, but their influence reached beyond the highlands to the Pacific coastline.

The Wari culture is believed to have flourished D 600-1000, meaning before the Incas. Unfortunately these people never developed a written language and left no inscriptions that would provide critical clues to their customs and beliefs.

A 1,300-year-old-mummy unearthed by archaeologists excavating a pyramid in Peru's capital city Lima could in time reveal the secrets of this lost culture. The mummy is assumed to be a noblewoman because of the ornate mask - was found in a crouching position surrounded by ceramics and textiles

8. Remarkable Mummy Reveals Dwarfs Lived 5,000 Years Ago In The City Of Makhunik
Some archaeologists have suggested that the city of Makhunik was once inhabited by ancient dwarfs. Others are denying the possibility. Makhunik is an an ancient Iranian city unearthed in Shahdad, Kerman province. Nobody thought an ancient civilization could exist in this desert until 1946. Scientific and archeological excavations were conducted in this region during 1948-56. Cemeteries belonging to 2nd and 3rd millennium BC and copper furnaces were discovered during eight excavation phases. Relics discovered in Shahdad's cemeteries included numerous potteries and brassware.

A significant aspect about Shahdad is the strange architecture of the houses, alleys and equipment discovered. The walls, ceiling, furnaces, shelves and all the equipments could only be used by dwarfs. After the discovery of City of Dwarfs in Shahdad and stories about peoples who lived there, rumors circulated about the discovery of a dwarf's remains. The latest case pertained to the discovery of a dwarf mummy with a height of 25 cm

9. Bizarre Mummy With Giant Head Discovered In Peru
A very strange abnormal-looking mummy with giant head has been unearthed in Peru. The discovery was made in the Cuzco region, the heart of Incan civilization. Researchers find the mummy extremely odd. The mummy simply does not fit in with the version of history that we have all been taught. The mummy's head is triangular and its eye cavities are very big. "It's 20 inches tall, which doesn't coincide with the stereotypes of humans. It's head is triangular and the eye cavities are too big.

The lower front part of the jaw has a kind of fin that doesn't exist in any ethnicity in the world.

10. 2600-Year-Old Mummy With A Metal Screw In The Leg
An ancient nine-inch metal screw found in the 2600-year-old mummy of an Egyptian priest Usermontu's leg became a worldwide sensation. The discovery was made in 1996. Dr. Wilfred Griggs, Egyptologist and a professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University was doing research on mummy DNA in the six resident mummies on display in the Museum, when an X-ray revealed a metal screw near the kneecap of Usermontu. ("DNA Research Conducted on Egyptian Museum Mummies," Rosicrucian Digest, 1995)

The metal screw, connecting the mummy's thigh and lower leg, is now attracting worldwide attention because it is believed to be the first known example of ancient limb reattachment. This particular mummy was acquired by the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in 1971

A girl in the United Kingdom, is devastated after being kicked out from school because her hair is too red.

HIV may reach ‘uncontrollable’ rates in 6 PH CITIES – DOH

by

Among the 6 cities exceeding the national HIV prevalence rate of 3.5% among males who have sex with males (MSM), Caloocan City is the ‘most problematic’

The Department of Health (DOH) has warned that an HIV “concentrated epidemic” in 6 Philippine cities – half found in Metro Manila – may reach “uncontrollable” levels in a couple of years without the active cooperation of the public.

Dr Jose Gerard Belimac, program manager of DOH’s National HIV/STI Prevention Program, made the statement in a presentation in an epidemiology workshop conducted by the DOH on Thursday, April 9.

The DOH identified the 6 cities and their corresponding prevalence rate among males who have sex with males (MSM) as the following:

Quezon City – 6.6%
Manila – 6.7%
Caloocan – 5.3%
Cebu – 7.7%
Davao – 5.0%
Cagayan de Oro – 4.7%

“According to [the World Health Organization], ‘pag lumagpas yan ng 5%, in a matter of two years’ time, the HIV in these areas will really be uncontrollable already so lessons learned, huwag po talagang hayaan na umabot ng 5% yung HIV prevalence in any of the cities,” Belimac said in his presenation.

(According to the World Health Organization, if [the prevalence rate] exceeds 5%, in a matter of two years’ time, the HIV in these areas will really be uncontrollable already so lessons learned, let us not allow the HIV prevalence in any of the cities to reach 5%.)

This is based on experiences of other countries like Thailand, he said in an interview at the sidelines of the workshop, when asked to clarify his statement.
Caloocan city ‘most problematic’

Belimac said Caloocan is the “most problematic” city with a high HIV prevalence rate because most infections happen among male sex workers.

In Manila, most infections happen among males who have casual sex with other males.

The table below shows other high risk areas in the country:

HIGH RISK AREASOTHER HIGH PREVALENCE CITIES
  • National Capital Region (16 cities and municipalities)
  • San Jose del Monte, Bulacan
  • Antipolo
  • Cainta
  • Bacoor
  • Imus
  • DasmariÅ„as
  • Sta Rosa, Laguna
  • Davao
  • Angeles
  • Bacolod
  • Cagayan de Oro City
  • Zamboanga City

The DOH reported a total of 646 new cases of HIV infections in February – the highest number since the Philippines’ first case in 1984. This number translates to 21 new infections every day.

Most of the cases (586 out of 646) were infected through sexual contact. About 84% of the 586 cases are MSM.

Belimac said the HIV prevalence rate among MSM has dramatically increased since 2007, from 0.30% to 3.50% in 2013.

This means 3.5 out of 100 MSM are infected with the virus.

KEY POPULATION AT RISK TO HIV
PREVALENCE RATE

Males who have sex with males0.30%1.05%2.12%3.50%

On condom use to prevent HIV infection, Belimac said in Filipino, “We cannot force those who don’t want to use condoms.”

He said that the condom use prevalence among MSM is at 35% – far from the government target of 80%.

The DOH is currently doing behavioral, bio-medical, and structural interventions to control HIV infections among Filipino MSM.

The health department’s National HIV/STI Prevention Program has a 2015 budget of about P500 million ($11.24 million), 60% of which will go to the treatment of patients.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) said the Philippines will not meet the HIV/AIDS targets in the 2015 Millennium Development Goals.

2 Died in Drinking Milk Tea in Philippines

by
MANILA, Philippines - Two people died and another was hospitalized after drinking milk tea at a shop in Sampaloc, Manila on Thursday, April 9, 2015. A CCTV video of the incident was shared to the authority and press to analyze the cause of the alleged poisoning.

Reports said that Suzanne Dagohoy and her boyfriend Arnold Aydalla bought the Hokkaido-flavored milk tea at Ergo Cha in Bustillos, Sampaloc around 11:00 in the morning on Thursday.

Aydalla took a sip of the milk tea and immediately spitted it out after he found out the taste is different. Dagohoy did the same thing after her boyfriend handed it over to her.

Aydalla complained to the owner of the ErgoCha store due to its unpleasant taste. Store owner William Abrigo has denied the unsual taste and even tasted the milk tea to prove that there was nothing wrong.

According to witnesses, it was Dagohoy who collapsed first then Aydalla experienced the same. Abrigo also succumbed after few minutes.

All three were rushed to a nearby hospital by the pedicab and tricycle drivers. Abrigo and Dagohoy were declared dead on arrival.

Dagohoy passed away at 3 p.m., while Abrigo died around 5 p.m. Aydalla is still being treated at Ospital ng Sampaloc.

In a report of GMA News, it said that witnesses saw a member of the shop's staff named Joseph Garnacio throwing milk tea in the sewer. Tapioca pearls were found in the area.

Currently, the Food and Drug Administration (BFAD) is studying the sample of the milk tea. Remains of the victims are now undergoing autopsy at the PNP Crime Laboratory.

Meanwhile, Dr. Benjamin Yson, the head of the city health department of Manila said the incident was “too fast, too quick and too fatal” that the victims weren’t able to leave the premises of the tea shop.

“But until we have the results of the specimens sent to the BFAD (Bureau of Food and Drugs), we can’t really say what happened,” Yson said to Inquirer.net.

Since Abrigo also died in the incident, families of Dagohoy and Aydalla may file chrages of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and physical injury to Adela, wife of Abrigo and the registered owner of the shop.

Man kills his roommate and her dog before having sex with her body because he couldn’t pay his share of the rent

by

A man brutally killed his roommate and her dog because he was embarrassed that he couldn’t pay his share of the monthly rent for their apartment, prosecutors in Florida said.

Now, the 20-year-old man was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Bryan Santana was accused of stabbing 23-year-old Shelby Fazio. A court was told that Santana confessed to the crime. The defendant’s attorney did not deny the allegations, but claimed that Santana is mentally ill.

Santana told investigators that he was ashamed that he could not pay the rent. He told detectives that he removed the bulbs in the home they shared so that nobody could see him kill Fazio.
He grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman in the chest. Santana then had sex with the body and killed her beloved dog. He also tried to kill another roommate, but she managed to escape.

It took the jury just two hours to convict Santana of first-degree murder, attempted murder, first-degree animal cruelty, abuse of a body and theft.
